Ditto on the pencil led thing... also, try changing brands and/or gauge of strings. I started snapping G-Strings a few years ago when I switched to Elixers... went back to DAdarrio and I can't remember the last time I snapped a string... however, I was playing a Taylor back then too. That could have had a lot to do with it too. It's been said that each guitar is setup for a certain guage string.
Love the acoustic vibe... That song 'We are hungry' has been coming up a lot in my life for some reason...
Love ya,

Bobby,
Loved the violin. I love to rock as much as the next guy, but I'm a huge fan of the stripped down and honest acoustic worship.
Keith,
As a guy with an English degree I'm all about fresh analogies and creativity, but "fat stripper?" That was a mental image I just didn't need. blah.

Hey man. About a year a go I started going through g-strings like a fat stripper. I wonder if maybe it's a Martin thing. Anyway, I heard that if you take some pencil lead (like from a mechanical pencil) and just rub some of the graphite on the bridge where the string rests and also at the nut in the groove, it'll kind of lubricate and keep the string from snagging on any burrs that you might have. I don't know if that'll help or not but I did it for a while and stopped breaking strings. I also tried to change my strum technique to use more wrist and less arm so I wasn't hammering so hard on the strings. Let the sound man take care of the volume, y'know? Good luck.
