Well, since I got saved while watching "A Thief in the Night" it is hard to understand your angst. I am following the formula because I know it works. I am currently working on a film called, "668--Neighbor of the Beast" where a guy gets saved while praying for God to turn down his neighbor's Ozzy records that blare through the walls of the apartment in a strange turn of events gets a job as Ozzy's road manager and leads the whole roadie crew to Christ. Oh, and his wife gets pregnant twice. And he's not even married. I won't even tell you who it stars because . . . you know. The choice is obvious.

Nathan - Hehe...nope. We had a video from Life Church that projected some of the words though.
klampert - I saw that the school and some of the players actually existed, but at least as far as I could tell from the special features on the DVD, I haven't heard yet of any of the actual story being real. If any is, I'd definitely be interested to know.

God never promised that...blessings come in many forms..
I did like the movie however because it did show the power of God...and I believe that it was mostly a true story

I feel the same way about Christian art, espcially film. I didn't even see Facing the Giants, but I've heard about the convenient resolutions of all the plotlines.
One of my dreams is that he'll use my writing to impact "Christian" movie-making. We'll see what he does!

Yeah, I'm with you on that. Even in spite of the bad acting, I found myself drawn into the movie. But by the time it was over, I was thinking "Did EVERYTHING have to work out like that?" It was almost a name-it-claim-it feel.
And I also agree with you that meeting the dude from Sherwood really gave me an appreciation for what they DID accomplish. Here's hoping that "Fireproof" is a big leap forward...the clips he showed were pretty good.
