I’m bummed… I really wanted to do that with you, but things just got crazy this summer! John Vanus came back and needed a place to stay so we put him and his family up, Staci went back to work, Joshua started kindergarten and I got a head and chest cold for over a month!
Needless to say, I haven’t really had time to train for, let alone do a tri.
Hmmm… San Francisco huh? I think I’d die swimming in water that’s colder than 65… not to mention the Great Whites!
Congratulations man… that’s quite an accomplishment.

Hey bro… read the whole post… just finished my first tri on Saturday with a couple of friends… I totally relate to you on the “almost skipping the last lap” thing. I messed up my count on the swim, which was indoors, and missed two laps. Sucks, because I was on a good pace. Unfortunately, I did get DQ’d, but at least I can estimate my time and I think it went pretty well. Good luck on your half Ironman.. maybe someday for me.

My 5k was today–not as ambitious as your tri, but I was happy with 24:10.
