Started a 3 week series at church yesterday called The Other Side. Talking about stuff beyond this world. Spiritual warfare, angels, demons, heaven, hell, etc.

Yesterday was on the "parallel war." The battle between God and Satan for our souls.
To kick off the series, thought it could be really interesting in a place like Santa Cruz to go downtown and get some opinions on the existence of another dimension. The interactions didn't disappoint.

Next week we'll hear what those people had to say about heaven and hell.

And in week 3, we doing a panel discussion of the pastoral staff on common questions about the topics. We've encouraged our church to submit their questions over here.
Should be a fun series!

This week at church we started a new series called "How To Be Rich."
We talked about our concepts of rich and whether we are or not.
So as part of the message, Josh and I hit the streets in Santa Cruz looking for rich people and finding out what people think it takes to be rich.

I never realized just how creepy Mr. Rodgers really was as a kid. This is creepy, yet funny at the same time.

Do Females Fart?

So, today will be a busy day of getting everything I can done so I can take tomorrow off to hang out with some of our closest friends, who are coming up to visit us this weekend. Will, Charlie and Bridget, and Stephen, Stephanie, Kaelyn (3) and Kaden (3 mo.) will be trickling in today and tomorrow for a fun filled Labor Day weekend.

But that’s beside the point. There are a number of YouTube videos that I have recently seen and enjoyed that are well worth seeing. So today will be all videos Friday. Throughout the day I’ll have my computer posting videos (which means you’ll need to swing over here from your RSS feeders!) to give you some small quick distractions throughout the day as I get stuff done. Some will be funny, others perhaps inspiring.

So to start us off, an unaired episode of Myth Busters that my wife showed me yesterday. They explore the myth that attractive women don’t pass gas. Check it out!

This is a video I edited together a few years ago for a Good Friday service. It’s been on my You Tube for a while now, but I just felt like it was worth reposting on this Good Friday. It’s probably still one of my favorite videos I ever put together. It’s continually been a good reminder to me of what Christ endured as a result of my sins.

Here it is, the video from our service this Sunday morning. My last shoot and edit at Revolution Church. Charlie and I had a good time shooting this at Eric and Ashley’s farm in Norwalk.

This morning was about the parable of the seeds from Matthew 4. Often we want to "plant seeds" in the lives of others, but we are so afraid that someone might not be ready. Don’t get me wrong…we definitely need to be sensitive to where people are at, but often times we can’t really know what God is doing in someone’s heart, and it is our job to plant the seeds and trust God. Imagine how ridiculous it would be for a farmer to wait for the soil to tell him when it was time to plant the seed…
